Are you making a 17th-century interpretation and need a good period-correct lantern to finish your look? Well, here it is. I call this the Monk’s Lantern. There are only so many ways to say lantern…

  • 17” tall, including carrying ring, 5.5” in diameter.

  • Lite or Amber lampshade mica panes.

  • Sturdy construction for heavy use.

  • Finish: Bright tin, or, red or black painted finish.

This style of lantern is depicted in several paintings and prints from the late 1500s onwards. It can be used in a variety of scenes and would also make a great guide lantern.

Each lantern is made by hand, one at a time. There can be significant differences in the appearance of the finish compared to the photos.

I am backed up on orders through mid-November. Please note that it will be at least December before new orders are ready.
