Monk's Candle Lantern
Are you making a 17th-century interpretation and need a good period-correct lantern to finish your look? Well, here it is. I call this the Monk’s Lantern because the hat is a little shorter than the Bishop’s Lantern. There are only so many ways to say lantern…
Each lantern is made one at a time, and there WILL be small differences in finish and construction for each lantern. Please allow 8 to 12 weeks for delivery.
13” tall, including carrying ring, 5.5” in diameter.
Lampshade mica panes.
Sturdy construction for heavy use.
Finish: Black or Antiqued, with lite or amber panes.
This style of lantern is depicted in several paintings and prints from the late 1500s onwards. It can be used in a variety of scenes and would also make a great guide lantern.
