Black "Honest Lantern" with amber door pane

I call this the Honest Lantern, based on a 1787 print of “Diogenes looking for an honest man.” I developed this pattern based on several period images. I had to make some assumptions about the construction as I had not seen an original lantern like this.

  • Measurements: About 8” tall. The body is about 4” in diameter.

  • Finish: Black with amber-colored pane.

The panes are mica products that simulate horn panes. The finish is intended to resemble a lantern that has been used and repainted multiple times, with visible brush marks and imperfections.
