How to make an idea soup, part 1.

Hi. I recently updated my website from version 7.0 to 7.1 with all the new bells and whistles. But it seems that in the process I lost all of my blog posts from 7.0. Oh well. I really had not added anything for a while anyway since I was putting stuff on Instagram. Why is all this stuff so confusing? Remember pencils, and that paper with the big lines?

So I am going to try again.

Back in September of 2022 Shelley and I spent some time in Barcelona and southern England. We both wanted to visit some museums, galleries, flea markets, crusty streets, and other places that would help recharge our creative batteries, which had become a bit battered. It should be said that the first half of the trip was heavy on Gaudi stuff. Shelley and I like to create a lot of different things. My website and store concentrate on the lantern thing, but we tinker with all kinds of stuff.

I thought I would do a few posts showing some of the spots we visited and/or studied from our trip and talk about how we were influenced by them. Not every stop was directly lantern or antique (Shelley buys and sells antiques) related, but they were all influences that go into the idea soup. You never know how some small detail or observation will change the way you think about a future project.

I should say that Shelley left some, um, brief instructions for our great neighbors that watched out for our cats.

So I will start from here. I have to go organize my thought.
